Paul Oakenfold

Paul Oakenfold is an iconic electronic music producer and DJ from England. Although he is renowned a trance producer and DJ, he made a name for himself as a promoting and DJing parties that incorporated a huge variety of electronic music styles, not just trance. He is known best for popularizing Goa dance music, which originated in Goa, India. Since his career began in the late 1980s, Oakenfold has become one of the best recognized DJs in the world and is often described as the first "Superstar" DJ.

Oakenfold has produced nearly 20 albums, many of which were chart-topping successes. Much of his music would be incorporated into mainstream media, including tracks featured in Saab commercials and video games such as FIFA 06. As well, he produced the official soundtrack for the 2001 action movie, Swordfish starring John Travolta and Halle Berry.
