August 8, 2008: According to Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, Academy Award-winning actor Paul Newman has reportedly finished chemotherapy treatments for cancer, and may only have weeks to live. The Mail claims Newman, who was first reported to be suffering from cancer in early 2008, has told family members he wants to die at home. Newman has not confirmed his rumored condition.

Reports first surfaced that Paul Newman was suffering from cancer in January 2008. The stories began circulating again in June 2008. At the time, Newman's agent denied reports that the actor was terminally ill. In July 2008, photos surfaced of Newman leaving the Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York in a wheelchair. Newman himself has not commented on the state of his health, except to say that he's "doing nicely."
