Paul Maholm is a left-handed pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates. After attending Germantown High School in Germantown]], TN, Maholm went on to letter three times as a baseball player at Mississippi State University. The Pirates drafted Maholm in the 1st round of the 2003 amateur draft. After a couple of years as a pitching prospect in the Pirates farm system, Maholm made his MLB debut with the Pirates on August 30, 2005, pitching 8 shutout innings in a Pirates victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.
