  • Major League Baseball player and All-Star First Baseman Paul Konerko currently plays for the Chicago White Sox. He previously played for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds, before being traded to the White Sox in 1999.

    Paul Henry Konerko was born in Providence, Rhode Island, on March 5, 1976. He attended Chaparral High School in Arizona. He would lead his team to the State Championship.
  • Pro Career

    Konerko made his Major League debut on September 8, 1997 with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was highly touted as a can't miss prospect, but he would be traded to the Cincinnati Reds in 1998, then to the Chicago White Sox in 1999. In Chicago, he would fulfill his promise, and develop into one of the premiere power hitters in the game. He would be selected to the American League All-Star team in 2002, 2005, and 2006. He would also be an intregal member of the 2005 White Sox playoff run, earning the American League Championship Series MVP, and leading the team to the World Series Championship.
