  • Attorney Paul Kirk is a former Democratic National Committee (DNC) chairman and a superdelegate from Massachusetts. Kirk first entered politics in 1968, when he worked on Robert F. Kennedy's presidential campaign. He spent much of the next decade serving as Senator Ted Kennedy's special assistant.

Barack Obama's camp announced on May 2, 2008, that Kirk was formally lending his support to their campaign. The endorsement came as no surprise - Hillary Clinton's camp had long had Kirk down as an Obama supporter. The announcement came one day after former DNC National Chairman Joe Andrew threw his support behind the Illinois senator.
