  • Patty Griffin is a popular Grammy nominated American singer-songwriter from Maine. Her first album, Living with Ghosts, was released in 1996. Her follow-up album was released to the public in 1998. It was a departure from the acoustical sound of her previous album. Her 2002 album, 1000 Kisses, was nominated for a Grammy.

    Griffin has performed with Emmylou Harris and the Dixie Chicks, both of which have performed covers of Griffin's songs. In 2007, she won the prestigious "Artist of the Year" from the Americana Music Association. She also took home an award for best album of the year for Children Running Through. It debuted at number 34 on the charts.

    Some well known names have recorded Griffin's songs over the years, like: Terra Naomi, Linda Ronstadt, Bette Midler, Beth Neilsen Chapman, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Jessica Simpson, Martina McBride, The Wreckers, Joan Osborne and Miranda Lambert.
