Patriot Games is a politically-themed action movie released in 1992 which was based on a Tom Clancy novel with the same name. Directed by Phillip Noyce, the movie is about a CIA analyst who inadvertently gets his family caught in the struggle between IRA terrorists and the British government. Plot
While in London with his family, CIA analyst Jack Ryan (Harrison Ford) are caught in the middle of an IRA terrorist attack on a member of the British royal family. He kills one of the attackers and wounds a ringleader, Sean Miller (Sean Bean). Miller escapes from custody and swears revenge on the Ryan for murdering his brother during the London attack, and targets Ryan's wife Catherine (Anne Archer) and daughter Sally (Thora Birch).
