Patrick Wilson

Actor Patrick Wilson performed for years on and off Broadway before debuting in film and television. He received Tony nominations for his performances in 2001's The Full Monty and 2002's revival of Oklahoma!.

Film and Television Career

Though making his screen debut in 2001's little seen My Sister's Wedding, Wilson's first major role came in 2003 as Joe Pitt on the HBO miniseries Angels in America.

During the following years, he appeared in Joel Schumacher's screen adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera, with Ellen Page in Hard Candy and as Kate Winslet's lover in Little Children. He appears as Nite Owl in the 2009 comic book adaptation Watchmen.

Continuing Stage Career

Despite his film success, Wilson continues to act on the stage, arguing that he looks for good roles and denies a gap between theater and film. In 2006, he starred in a Broadway revival of Neil Simon's Barefood in the Park.
