Patrick McGoohan was an Emmy Award-winning actor best known for his role in the TV show The Prisoner, a British series about a former spy who is held against his will in a small village. The Prisoner
The Prisoner first aired on BBC, and later aired on CBS in the United States. McGoohan co-created and co-produced the show. AMC is currently producing a remake of the show, which will air as a miniseries later in 2009. McGoohan played a former spy trapped in a village. Neither the spy nor the village were named in the show—McGoohan's character was only referred to as Number Six.
