  • Patrick Lalime is a professional hockey player originally from Canada. He is a goaltender for the Buffalo Sabres in the National Hockey League. Lalime signed with the Sabres on July 1, 2008.
  • Early Years

    Prior to his NHL days, Lalime played for the Shawinigan Cataractes in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He was drafted 156th overall in the 1993 NHL Draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Lalime continued to play in the minor leagues, including playing for the Cleveland Lumberjacks in the now defunct International Hockey League. He made his NHL debut with the Penguins during the 199697 regular season, playing 39 games, winning 21. On March 24, 1998, Lalime was traded to the then named Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. After one more season playing strictly in the minors, Lalime was traded to the Ottawa Senators on June 18, 1999. He split the goaltending duties his first season in Ottawa with Ron Tugnutt, before earning the starting job the next year.
  • Recent Career

    In 2003, Lalime was selected for his first NHL All-Star Game appearance. The following year, on June 27, 2004, Lalime was traded to the St. Louis Blues. Lalime joined the Blues for just 31 games in the 2005-06 regular season, then entered free agency. On July 1, 2006, he signed as a free agent with the Chicago Blackhawks. In Chicago Lalime serves as a back-up goaltender under veteran Nikolai Khabibulin.
