Patrick Ewing played professional basketball for 17 seasons and is currently an assistant coach for the Orlando Magic.
Prior to his NBA career, Ewing played at Georgetown University, leading them to the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Championship in 1984. He also joined the U.S. men's basketball team and won a Gold Medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Career
In his rookie season with the Knicks, Ewing was named the NBA Rookie of the Year. He was also selected for his first of 11 NBA All-Star Games in 1996. Ewing played in his second Olympic Games in 1992 as a member of the Gold Medal winning Dream Team. He continued with the Knicks until he was traded in 2000 to the Seattle SuperSonics. Following his retirement, his #33 jersey was retired by the New York Knicks on February 28, 2003. He continued in the NBA, as an assistant coach for the Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets and his current assistant coaching position with the Orlando Magic.
