Patrick Duddy

Patrick Duddy is the United States ambassador to Venezuela. Chavez Ouster

The Venezuelan President expelled Duddy and withdrew the Venezuelan Ambassador to the United States, Bernardo Alvarez, after Chavez said he discovered an American-supported coup by Venezuelan military officers. On September 10, 2008, Bolivia's President Evo Morales expelled U.S. Ambassador Philip S. Goldberg, citing similar allegations.The New York Times: Alleging Coup Plot, Chávez Ousts U.S. Envoy (September 12, 2008) In retaliation, the United States expelled Alvarez.
