Football Career

Prior to playing in the NFL, Cobbs played college football with the North Texas Mean Green in the NCAA. He made his debut in 2001, playing until 2004, when he was injured and took a medical redshirt for the season. Cobbs finished his collegiate career setting school and Sun Belt Conference records for 818 carries, 4,050 rushing yards and 36 touchdowns.Official Site of the Miami Dolphins: Patrick Cobbs

After college, Cobbs signed an an undrafted free agent with the New England Patriots in 2006. He played only on their practice squad, then was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cobbs was waived by the Steelers early in the 2006 season and picked up by the Miami Dolphins.
