Patricia Velasquez is a fashion/runway model and actress from Venezuela who has walked the runway for CHANEL, VERSACE, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana and Carolina Herrera. She has appeared in print advertisements for Victoria's Secret, CHANEL, and Roberto Verino's. Velasquez started the Taya Foundation which helps the native people of Venezuela.

Career

Particia Velasquez established herself as a successful model in the late 90's with high profile ad campaigns with Dolce & Gabbana and a popular spread in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She has since carved out a successful career in acting with notable roles in such films as The Mummy and in such television series such as Arrested Development and The L Word.

Personal Life

Patricia Carola Velasquez Semprun was born in Guajira, Venezuela on January 31, 1971. She attended high school at San Vicente de Paul High School. After graduating she attended college for one year before deciding to pursue a career in modeling. She moved to Milan and shortly after started to appear in fashion shows for such prestigious fashion houses as Gucci and VERSACE. In her personal life she has stated she is bisexual and had a relationship with comedian Sandra Bernhard. She is also a spokesperson for a charity which she started called the Taya Foundation which helps the native people of Venezuela.
