Patricia Carola Velasquez Semprun was born in Guajira, Venezuela on January 31, 1971. She attended high school at San Vicente de Paul High School. After graduating she attended college for one year before deciding to pursue a career in modeling. She moved to Milan and shortly after started to appear in fashion shows for such prestigious fashion houses as Gucci and VERSACE. In her personal life she has stated she is bisexual and had a relationship with comedian Sandra Bernhard. She is also a spokesperson for a charity which she started called the Taya Foundation which helps the native people of Venezuela. -
