    • When a memory is initially obtained, the Normal (NOR) node is revealed.
    • Once the node is activated, all of the nodes branching to the right are revealed.
    • All nodes to the left of a node must be activated to reveal a specific node.
  • Patapon 2's Evolution Map is explored by evolving a Patapon unit into Rarepons. Players can no longer create Rarepons at will depending on the materials on hand. Instead, Rarepons are unlocked in a branching order based on the Evolution Map. Once unlocked, players are able to level them up to make them stronger.

There are three stages of growth for each Rarepon, strength significantly increasing at levels five and ten. Kibapons, Dekapons, Megapons, Robopons, Mahopons and Toripons are also unlocked by discovering their scroll on the Evolution Map.
