There are many and varied boss battles throughout Patapon 2, the sequel to the popular platformer/rhythm game for the PSP that mixes action gameplay elements with those of a rhythm-based game. Every few levels, you will find your Patapon army facing a gigantic creature who seems nearly impossible to beat. About Patapon 2
Play as a god who is worshipped by a miniature race of creatures called Patapon. Your goal is to lead the Patapon, past all of the game's enemies and obstacles, safely to Earthend. By inputting simple commands in time with the rhythm of the game, you lead your Patapon army's moves, attacks, defenses and charges. Once you have mastered the beat, you are rewarded with Fever mode, in which the attacks and defenses of your Patapon army are stronger.Patapon 2 features 200% more content than the original game, featuring nearly 100 missions, new characters and drum beat commands, as well as special weapons and equipment.

Guardian Bosses
- Dodonga (blue dragon):
- Uses fire

- Caps can be retrieved when Dodonga devours them in the first few levels

- Zaknel (giant black worm with orange eyes)
- Attacks using fire breath
- Body curves into an "S" shape in preparation for fire attack
- Also attacks by straightening his body with his head pointing up and slamming into your patapons
- Most powerful attack is creating earthquakes by thrashing around
- Will blink eyes when weakened
- Head stalk will break on higher levels, dropping extra loot
- Dodaknel (giant black worm with light green eyes)
- Similar attack to Zaknel but more powerful
- Gaeen (giant stone goliath with brown patterns)
- Attacks by bringing his arms directly overhead while standing on one foot and slamming them on the ground
- Secondary fire damage attack directs laser beam against Patapons
- Also puts his arms on the ground, plows forward and tosses Patapons into the air
- Swirls his eye and stops momentarily when weakened
- When weakened on higher levels, Gaeen's arms and a stone on his head crack, dropping extra pieces of loot

- Dogaeen (giant blue steel goliath)
- Stronger version of Gaeen

- Ciokina (giant orange crab)
- Attacks by extending claws overhead and blowing bubbles that make your patapons drowsy
- Secondary attack: extend claws overhead and swing quickly downward
- Can also hunch forward, bring her claws over one of your Patapons, grab, toss and kill them
- Will drop caps at higher levels
- Pants and hunches when weakened
- Claw, body and leg broken on higher levels for extra loot

- Cioking (giant red crab covered in old weapons and spines)
- Similar attack to Ciokina, but stronger
- Grab attack does not drop caps, regardless of level

- Shookle (giant venus-fly-trap)
- Curls vines back and sprays pollen that puts Patapon to sleep
- Also sprays pollen when sustaining sufficient damage
- Vines curl forward and bows head just prior to jumping on Patapon
- Can grab up to three Patapon at one time and eat them, spitting out their caps and digested bodies at your army unit
- Does not drop caps at higher levels
- Eye swirls when weakened
- Head cracks occasionally, dropping extra items
- Shooshookle (giant blue venus-fly-trap)
- Similar to Shookle but stronger
- Does not drop caps when eating Patapon
- Kanogias (machine with castle-like appearance)
- Giver of alloys
- Difficult to burn or freeze
- Has a giant cannon
- Strongest attack is charging and shooting the cannon at Patapons
- Occasionally staggers himself, dropping alloys

- Gorl
- Final demonic boss with two interchangeable forms that have different abilities
- Version 1: Flying upright dragon in which Gorl creates black shadow balls to throw at Patapon, dealing large amounts of fire damage. His strongest attack in this form is place both hands in front of him, stare down and grab Patapon and kill it instantly with lightening. This attack can be prevented with the ChakaChaka defense song. Caps cannot be recovered when Gorl kills Patapon this way.
- Version 2: Dog-like demon is the stronger of the two forms. In this form, Gorl crouches and spits dark bolts of fire at your Patapon, dealing fire damage and putting them to sleep. His most powerful attack is retreating, lunging forward and chomping. On higher levels, it is recommended that the PonPata retreat is used when he is about to do this
- Gorl's horn and wing are breakable, allowing the collection of extra loot on higher levels.

Zigiton Bosses
- General Gong (Tateton with horned helmet, scythe and Queen Kharma army)
- Special attacks include launching a tornado, sparking the ground
- Will drop one of two items when defeated: Gong's Scythe or Gong's Helm
- Was revived in Patapon 2 to see revenge on the Patapons
- Chose instead to help them stop Karmenpon and Akumapon
- Appears in Gong the Hawkeye, Gong Returns, Starry Sky, Gong Vows to Fight

- Spiderton (Kibaton with ancient halberd, spider-like helm and Queen Kharma army)
- Wears a spider-like helmet
- Uses a powerful horse
