According to reports, Williams took the diuretic because of a $ 400,000 incentive bonus if he met a specific weight throughout the year. Policy Violation
In October of 2008, Williams was one of many, including Vikings teammate Kevin Williams, who tested positive for a banned diuretic, that can be used to hide steroids in drug testing. He missed time with the team in November of 2008 while appealing the ruling. Following his college football play with the Texas A&M Aggies, Williams signed as an undrafted free agent with the Buffalo Bills in 1997. He joined the Bills for one game that season. After eight seasons with the Bills, Williams signed with the Minnesota Vikings in 2005.
