On March 25, 2009, newspapers printed a cartoon by Oliphant that portrayed a headless uniformed figure wielding a sword and fanged Star of David. The large figure appeared to be chasing a woman who was labeled "Gaza." A director with the Anti-Defamation league called the cartoon "hideously anti-Semitic." In a statement, the organization said the cartoon "employs Nazi imagery by portraying Israel as a jack-booted, goose-stepping headless apparition. The implication is of an Israeli policy without a head or a heart."FOXBusiness.com: ADL Calls Oliphant Cartoon 'Hideously Anti-Semitic' (March 26, 2009)
