George Clinton founded a doo-wop group in his barber shop, the called themselves "The Parliaments" after the cigarette brand.
Parliament and Funkadelic
The changed their name to Parliament due to some problems with their record company, but at the same time, they also went by the name Funkadelic. Their style had changed from doo-wop to funk. Both Parliament and Funkadelic had the same members. The members are collectively knows as George Clinton's P-Funk.Spacey Style
While performing as Funkadelic, the group had a psychedelic rock format, while Parliament's shows involved wild costumes and sci-fi themes. Parliament had extravagant stage shows.-
