Parker Posey appeared in numerous independent films in the 1990s, including Party Girl, Dazed and Confused and The House of Yes, earning her the nickname "Queen of the Indies." More recently, she appeared as Kitty Kowalski in the comic book film Superman Returns and as a regular on the TV series The Return of Jezebel James and Boston Legal. She appears in all of the improvisational mockumentaries from director Christopher Guest.

Career Background
Posey's big break came on the soap opera As the World Turns, on which she starred for a single season from 1991-1992. Her first major film role was in the Richard Linklater ensemble comedy Dazed and Confused.
Posey starred in a variety of independent films in the 1990s, including frequent collaborations with Christopher Guest and Hal Hartley. She won Special Recognition at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival for her performance as a delusional heiress in The House of Yes.
She frequently appears in supporting roles in mainstream studio films as well, including You've Got Mail, Josie and the Pussycats and Blade: Trinity. She recently appeared in the Jessica Alba horror film The Eye.
