A parfait is a dessert that in America has come to mean layers of Fruit or cake alternated with something cream-based such as whipped cream or ice cream. There are many variations, including a breakfast parfait, made with granola and yogurt. In 2002, McDonald's introduced the Fruit 'n Yogurt Parfait consisting of layers of vanilla yogurt, strawberries, blueberries and granola.
