The Paranormal
Paranormal is a general term that describes unusual experiences that lack a scientific explanation,[1] or phenomena alleged to be outside of science's current ability to explain or measure.[2] In parapsychology, it is used to describe the potentially psychic phenomena of telepathy, extra-sensory perception, psychokinesis, ghosts, and hauntings. The term is also applied to UFOs, some creatures that fall under the scope of cryptozoology, purported phenomena surrounding the Bermuda Triangle, and other non-psychic subjects.[3] Stories relating to paranormal phenomena are found in popular culture and folklore, but the scientific community, as referenced in statements made by organization such as the United States National Science Foundation, contends that scientific evidence does not support paranormal beliefs.[4] -

'The house' Category: Dreams and the Supernatural When I was a child we visited my great grandfathers house at least 3 times a week. My great grandmother died in the house before I came along. For some odd reason I always feared this old house. It seemed that everytime I entered the front door I looked for this stuffed alligator, which always seemed to be in a different spot in the living room, although my great grandfather never moved anything in his house. I hated being there. I was walking down the sidewalk next to the house and I swore to my mom and dad I saw red eyes in the basement window, I was terrified by this time and wanted to go home and never go back there, grant it I was maybe 8 yrs old. Sorry to say he passed away in the house to. The house sat empty for a number of years, the family refused to sell it. My great grandparents bought it new, my grandmaw, her 2 sisters and brother were raised in that house. I even have pictures of my dad as a baby on the same sidewalk I was on. This is where it begins... I got married and bought this house! From day one I wondered what I was thinking by living in a house I was so afraid of as a child. When I went through the house it was so cold and dead inside, I went to the basement and it was totally empty except for one thing... a oujia board! I was uneasy as to why this was here. I lived in this house long enough to have 3 boys 5, 4 and 1... all was good and I was settled in just fine. I could'nt figure out why at one time I was so scared of this house which had become my home."My TV" Category: Dreams and the Supernatural
I could turn it off at the set or with the remote. All the lights and sound would
shut down but the picture would still be playing. This would happen in spells, there
was no way to completely shut it down except unplug it from the wall. I had a tv
repair man look at it and he said the tv was fine, that there was no way possible
this could happen. I felt like a fool, but it did happen, alot, I did'nt argue with
him. I just got to the point when this happened, I'd just go to bed and leave it
be.
"The begining" Category: Dreams and the Supernatural The story of life with most people, I went through a divorce, I was devastated, scared, unemployed and had 3 babies. I stayed in the house with my kids and tried to be strong and make things ok for them, but inside I was so worried for us. The more that time went on the more things seemed to happen. I started asking questions about the house, little question that only family could answer but at the same time kept it to myself as to why I was asking. It seemed that there was an explanation to everything that went on, well almost everything.
"The fireball" Category: Dreams and the Supernatural I had what I thought was a dream one night, not sure if it was a dream or not. I was watching a huge ( what I have always called a fireball ) swope through everyroom in my house. The room where my grandfather had passed away was completely destroyed and turned upside down by this thing. At last it made it's way to my room. As I lay in bed it came through the door swirled around the room and then hit me like a ton of lead. I felt like I was being pushed down into the bed, and I could'nt move. I felt like there was something very heavy upon me and I could'nt breath... I woke up in a total panic gasping for air and ran out of the house. When I went back in, the room I saw get destoryed in my dream was fine. I recently read an article and they described this as an energy ball.Category: Dreams and the Supernatural I had a waterbed in this house. At night I could feel footsteps walking around, people sit on the bed, and one night I felt a cat jump on the bed and slowly walk up the bed next to me... I did'nt have any cats. When I would jump up or smack at what I felt, there was never nothing there. I lost alot of sleep in this house needless to say. I am going to list some of the events for you instead of telling every little story. 1. A very warm spot in my kitchen on the linoleum floor - my great grandmother would lean in the cubbie where the two cabinets came together.. it was her spot while in the kitchen. Take in mind I had no heat ducts in my kitchen, the floor was always cold. 2. The cat that jumped on my bed - my great grandmother had a cat that slept with her. 3. People would sit down next to you, on the couch or on the bed, during the day to - no answer for this one. 4. I seemed to go through alot of light bulbs and batteries in this house - no answer. 5. Radio would switch stations or it would be that fuzzy sound and I'd have to find the station agian - no answer.
I had friends who would not come over, and friends that were there swear something touched them or they felt something.
"A Dream?" Category: Dreams and the Supernatural The biggest and most comforting thing that happened to me in this house, happened one night when I hit rock bottom in my fight to move on. I was in my bed asleep when I heard a soft voice calling my name, I woke up and what I saw was my grandmother standing in my room next to my dresser. She told me " everything will be ok" , thats all she said as she like just dissappeared before my eyes. I woke up instantly and was very upset, but at the same time felt relieved for some odd reason. I thought it was a dream, was it, I question this now. This is a description of what I saw. The only thing that was very clear to me was her face. She was wearing a white flowing gown, and I did see any wings... she was glowing, like a bright light all around her... then she just faded away. I've never experienced anything like this since then, and everything did turn out ok from that point on. I sold the house and went on with my life.
