Paranoid Park

  • Paranoid Park is a movie directed by Gus Van Sant based on a novel by Blake Nelson. Based in Portland, Oregon, the film follows a 16-year-old who accidentally kills a security guard with his skateboard. After the accident, the boy becomes increasingly nervous that he will be caught, even as evidence emerges that in no way links him to the crime. The film explores the emotional and psychological effects the incident has on the protagonist. The film premiered in 2007 at the Cannes Film Festival, where it was nominated for the Palme d'Or and won the 60th Anniversary Award.
