• Panna Cotta is an Italian dessert made with milk, sugar and cream. Hailing from the Northern part of the region, the dessert incorporates a gelatin that creates a firm custard like texture.
  • Ingredients

    1. 1/3 cup skim milk
    2. 1 (.25 ounce) envelope unflavored gelatin
    3. 2 1/2 cups heavy cream
    4. 1/2 cup white sugar
    5. 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Directions

Take a small bowl and pour the milk into the gelatin powder. Put the bowl aside. In a saucepan stir the heavy cream and sugar together over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil and as the cream reaches to the top of the pan, pour the gelatin and milk into the cream. Stir till dissolved. Cook for one minute and then remove from heat. Add the vanilla and pour into six individual ramekins. Leave the ramekins uncovered in room temperature until cool. Cover with plastic wrap and then refrigerate for four hours before serving.
