• The 2002 suspense film Panic Room tells the story of a woman and her daughter attempting to escape the wrath of two would be robbers that try are attempting to steal $3 million in bearer bonds that are locked in an upstairs floor vault.
  • Plot

    The films begins as the recently divorced Meg Altman, played by Jodie Foster, and her daughter Sarah, played by Kristen Steward, purchase a Manhattan home. The home includes a comprehensive panic room, equipped with high tech security and a steel casing, that can be used to protect anyone inside from intruders. The night they move into the home three men break in. Meg and Sarah lock themselves in the panic room and watch the robbers on video surveillance. Their hiding in the steel room however proves troublesome for Sarah, who is a Type 1 Diabetic and needs Insulin injections every few hours. Sara's Insulin however is two floors below, in their refrigerator. To make matters worse, the $3 million in bearer bonds the robbers are searching for are locked in a vault, in the panic room.
