Pandora Internet Radio is a free music-listening service that creates stations for its users based on their preferences and search terms. As the user samples more music and gives feedback to the service, Pandora refines its search. The Music Genome Project launched the website in 2006. On July 10, 2008, Pandora revealed a new application for the iPhone.CNET: Photos: Hands-On With Pandora's Internet Radio iPhone App (July 10, 2008)

In response to a ruling by the Copyright Royalty Board that prohibitively increased Internet radio licensing fees and royalties, Pandora founder Tim Westergren started the SaveNetRadio campaign in order to voice opposition to the proposed fee increases. As of February 18, 2009, Internet Radio sites have yet to reach a royalty deal with SoundExchange (the organization that is responsible for collecting royalties on behalf of copyright holders).Washington Post: Streaming Music Sites And SoundExchange Fail To Reach Roylaty Deal (February 18, 2009) Westergren has stated publicly that if the rates stay the way they are, Pandora will have to shut down its business.Washington Post: Giant of Internet Radio Nears Its 'Last Stand' (August 16, 2008)Reviews
