Pancho Claus is a fictitious character that is reportedly Santa Claus' cousin from the South Pole. According to Hispanic tradition, most date the creation of Pancho Claus to the civil rights movement of the 1960s and 1970s. Typically Pancho Claus uses a low ride instead of a sleigh when delivering presents to the Hispanic children around the world.Houston Chronicle: Here Comes Pancho Claus (December 23, 2008)

Origin
Two distinct versions of the origin of Pancho Claus exist. In one version a fairy godmother in Mexico created him when two children wished to make the whole world happy. In another version St. Nick's brother Frank stopped in Mexico on the way to the South Pole and fell in love with a senorita named Conchita. They fell in love and created Frank Jr., who was nicknamed Pancho.Houston Chronicle: Here Comes Pancho Claus (December 23, 2008)
