He meets the seductive Mrs. Donnely (Elisabeth Shue), who convinces him to assist her in a fake kidnapping in return for a percentage of the profits. Although he suspects he is being set up, Barber accepts the offer and also agrees to act as the D.A.'s media representative for the case. The situation soon turns sour for Barber, who soon realizes that he's just a pawn in a twisted plot and has been framed to take the fall for the crime.
