Located in Jumeirah, Dubai, the Palm Jumeirah is a man-made island shaped like a palm tree and surrounded by a crescent of breakwater. The island consists of a two-kilometer long trunk, containing tourist attractions, commercial and residential properties.Official Site: The Trunk At the crown of the trunk are seventeen fronds, which are home to private beaches and residential properties.

Features
In addition to thousands of residential properties, the Palm Jumeirah houses several luxury hotels, including the Trump International Hotel and Tower. The areas are connected by a monorail and an underwater tunnel connects the island to the surrounding crescent. The Queen Elizabeth 2 cruise liner, purchased in 2007 for $100 million, will be permanently docked at the island as a hotel and museum.The National: Palm Jumeirah confirmed as QE2's final stop (July 27, 2008)
