Sarah Palin's trooper emails allegedly contain ridicule and criticism of Alaskan state troopers and the commissioner Walt Monegan, for failing to fire their colleague, Mike Wooten. Wooten divorced Palin's sister and was involved in a child custody feud with the Palin family. The emails might serve as additional evidence that Palin abused her gubernatorial authority in trying to fire Wooten.
