• 2008 Vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin appeared on the October 18, 2008 episode of Saturday Night Live as herself. In a "Weekend Update" sketch, Amy Poehler filled in for Palin after the vice presidential candidate declined to perform a rap about her candidacy. Poehler, her pregnant belly quite pronounced, rapped as if she were Sarah Palin. Poehler was backed up by dancers dressed up like Eskimos and an actor in a hockey jersey playing Palin's husband, Todd. At the end of the rap, a person in a moose costume came onto the stage, Poehler mimed shooting the moose and the moose fell to the floor.
