In September 2008, Governor Sarah Palin's personal [[Yahoo!]] e-mail account was hacked. Screen shots of the e-mails were posted on gossip web sites, prompting an investigation by the FBI and Secret Service.FOXNews: FBI, Secret Service Investigate Hacking of Palin's E-mail In a post on the 4Chan forum, the supposed hacker gave a detailed account of how he was able to gain access to Palin's e-mail. The individual also said he had hoped to find evidence that Palin used her personal e-mail for business.
