Pain Sore Spots

Sore Spots is a downloadable expansion pack for the PS3 game, Pain. The game is available for purchase from the PlayStation Store and was released on November 29, 2007. Sore Spots will be released sometime in May 2009.GameSpot: Pain Sore Spots Demo (Time: 3:56)

Pain Sore Spots features two new environments: High School Gymnasium and Alien Research Facility. There are a few new gameplay modes, including "Mad Science," which is similar to an existing mode called "Fun With Explosives." Rather than blowing up crates, players mix different types of chemicals and make them explode in as little time as possible.

There are a few new characters. The Ded Baron is a zombie who was created and named based on player feedback on the Pain forums. Daxter, from Naughty Dog's successful Jak and Daxter series of games, will be available as a free downloadable character.

Sore Spots also includes a new multiplayer mode called Pain Olympics. Players can select from a number of painful events, such as a pimp slap relay race, a bull riding event or anvil tossing.

Jason Coker, associate producer with SCEA, has stated that additional environments and characters are planned for Pain and the company plans to support the game at least until the end of 2009.GameSpot: Pain Sore Spots Demo (Time: 3:56)
