Padlock

A padlock is a special lock used on doors to protect a consumer's valuables and property against theft and unwanted intrusion.

Parts of Lock

The traditional padlock consists of three different parts. The Locking Mechanism is the component of the lock which secures the mechanism and releases the shackle from the body. The Shackle is traditionally U Shaped and attaches the lock to the item being protected. The Body holds the shackle and covers and protects the locking mechanism.
