New York Times best-selling author and teacher P.C. Cast recently teamed up with her daughter Kristin to write a series of young adult novels called The House of Night Series. Kristin contributed a great deal to the realism of the dialogue in the series, often going over her mother's drafts and finetuning them for a teen audience. The popularity of the series was so widespread that the second book debuted on the New York Times best-seller's list at number two. The fourth book in the series, Untamed is due to be released in September 2008.
Cast's Goddess Summoning series is popular among fantasy and romance readers alike, and the sixth book in that series will be released in May 2008. She also writes a fantasy series set in a unique world she created called Partholon that revisits many of the popular Gods and Goddesses from the ancient legends of several cultures.
Born in Illinois, she now resides in Oklahoma. She has been both teaching and speaking since she finished more than one tour in the United States Air Force and has taught English Literature at both the high school and college level. She has won numerous awards for her writing, including the Oklahoma Book Award, the YALSA Quick Pick for Reluctant Readers, the Romantic Times Reviewers’ Choice Award, the Prism, the Holt Medallion and several others.
