Former NFL tight end Ozzie Newsome currently serves as the general manager of the Baltimore Ravens. He became the first African-American to serve as a general manager in the NFL in 2002.
Career Highlights
Newsome attended the University of Alabama, playing four seasons for the Alabama Crimson Tide Football team. He was selected in the first round of the 1978 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. In his NFL career, Newsome was selected to the Pro Bowl three times and seven times All-Pro. He also led the team to win three AFC Championship Games over four seasons. Newsome retired as the all time receptions leader for a tight end in 1990.
