Outback Bowl

The Outback Bowl is an annual college football bowl game. The game is held each bowl season at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The Outback Bowl hosts teams from the Southeastern Conference and Big Ten Conference.

In 2011, the Outback Bowl was once again be held on New Year's Day, January 1, 2011. The game was the 25th anniversary of the Outback Bowl. It featured the Florida Gators, representing the SEC, defeating Penn State, representing the Big Ten, by a score of 37-24. In the 2009-2010 season, the Outback Bowl was played on January 1 at 11:00 a.m. EST between Northwestern and Auburn Tigers. The Auburn Tigers defeated the Northwestern Wildcats 38-35.http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=300010002

The Iowa Hawkeyes played the South Carolina Gamecocks in the 2008 Outback Bowl. The Hawkeyes beat the Gamecocks, 31-10.http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3444571

2010 Outback Bowl

In the 2010 Outback Bowl, the Auburn Tigers pulled out a victory over the Northwestern Wildcats in a 38-35 game. After going into overtime tied at 35, Auburn kicked a field goal to take the lead 38-35. Northwestern, with their starting kicker out with an injury, opted to try a fake field goal. Zeke Markshausen took the snap and tried to run the ball around the end of the offensive line.
