Our Town (1940 Film)

Sam Wood directed this 1940 adaptation of Thorton Wilder's classic play, Our Town. Adapted from the stage version, the film stars William Holden and Martha Scott as a rural couple experiencing all the small dramas life has to offer.

Plot Synopsis

Through Mr. Morgan, played by Frank Craven, the audience is introduced to the residents of Grover's Corner, most notably George Gibbs, played by William Holden, and Emily Web played by Martha Scott. We see their lives in 1901, 1904, and 1913, learning about the couple's courtship, marriage and attempts to start a family.
