  • Oscar del la Renta is a high end fashion design founded by Oscar Aristides Renta Fiallo, (Oscar de la Renta) in 1965.

    His collections for women include, ball gowns, cocktail dresses, handbags, belts, shoes, eyewear, fragrances, furs, jewelry, scarves and sleepwear. And for men, hosiery, sport coats, suits, and trousers.

    Oscar de la Renta also carries a line of sportswear for men and boys, and in 2002 he showcased his furniture collection and home fragrance line. With de la Rentas success in home furnishing he decided to launch a more extensive collection, adding decorative fabrics, wallpaper, bedding, rugs and accent pieces.

    1. 2000 and in 2008: Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), Womenswear Designer of the Year Award
    2. 1990: Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Lifetime Achievement Award
    3. 1973: Two time winner of the American Fashion Critic's Award
    4. 1973 - 1976 and 1986 - 1988: He served as President of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA)
    5. 1993 - 2002: designed the haute couture collection for the house of Pierre Balmain
    6. Serves on the board of the Metropolitan Opera, New York Opera House, Carnegie Hall, and Channel Thirteen, New Yorkers for Children, the America's Society and is currently the chairman of the Queen Sofia Spanish Institute.
