Oriental Longhair Features
The ideal Oriental Longhair is a svelte, angular, fine-boned cat with a lithe, muscular body ... cats with these characteristics are referred to as "extreme" in type, and they are strongly preferred by those who wish for a "show quality" cat. But as is the case with the Siamese and Balinese breeds, there is also an option for "traditional" body types that have rounder faces and more substantial, robust bodies. Many Oriental Longhair enthusiasts prefer the latter, and believe them to be superior to extreme cats in terms of health and longevity.
Eyes are almond shaped, and may be blue or green.
The Oriental Longhair's coat is not limited to colorpoint variations ... there are over 300 possibilities for color and pattern combinations. Like the Balinese, they have plumelike tails and their coats are medium length, lying close to the body.
