Sun Solaris, also refered to as Solaris and Solaris OS, is a UNIX based operating system (OS) made buy Sun Microsystems. Sun is also the maker of the SPARC chip. Solaris is now up to version 10 and runs on SPARC, x64 and x86 chips. Solaris 10 one of the most secure OS around it is used by Government, Intelligence and Security agencies. There are two other versions of Sun Solaris. OpenSolaris http://opensolaris.org/os/ the open source version and Trusted Solaris with unmatched security. All three versions are free for download.
