OpenMac is a computer product by Miami-based PsyStar. It is intended to mirror the Mac Mini, selling with double the memory at $400, about half the price.
PsyStar says that the OpenMac will be compatible with Apple's Leopard operating system. This may leave PsyStar vulnerable to legal action, as Apple's End User License Agreement (EULA) does not allow for non-Apple-sanctioned hardware to run Apple operating systems.
Alternate Meaning OpenMac can also refer to UNIX projects within Mac platforms. Like the OpenMac computer, the OpenMac projects are unaffiliated with Apple, yet teams of OpenMac programmers have attempted to initiate a working relationship.
