  • Ingredients

    1. 1 cup buttermilk
    2. 2 large yellow onions, peeled and cut into 1/8-inch thick rings
    3. 2 cups all-purpose flour
    4. Peanut oil or vegetable oil
    5. Spices or hot sauce of your choice
  • Directions

Combine buttermilk with spices or hot sauce in a bowl and add onion rings. Coat in the marinade and refrigerate for an hour. In a pot, pour oil and heat to 360 degrees. In a large dish, combine the flour with your seasoning and then coat the rings in the flour evenly. Shake off excess flour and place rings in the hot oil. Fry for about three minutes or until brown. Place rings on paper towels to drain oil and allow to cool. —Adapted from Food NetworkFood Network: Fried Onion Rings
