Once Upon a Time in Mexico is an action film about a Mexican Mariachi (and would-be Desperado) who is hired by the CIA to kill an evil general. Directed by Robert Rodriguez and starring Antonio Banderas and Johnny Depp, the movie is the third and final film in Rodriguez's "Mariachi Trilogy", which also includes the 1992 film El Mariachi and the 1995 follow-up Desperado. While the movie was a commercial success, it is generally considered to be the weakest film in the trilogy.
