  • Plot Synopsis

    On Golden Pond tells the story of Norman and Ethel Thayer, played by Henry Fonda and Katharine Hepburn. The Thayer's take their annual summer trip to New England. Their solitude is interrupted with the arrival of their daughter Chelsea, played by Jane Fonda, her finance, played by Dabney Coleman, and his son Billy, played by Doug McKeon. After disliking each other from the start, Norman and Billy grow to like each other, which strengthens the relationship between Chelsea and her father. Henry Fonda, Katharine Hepburn and Ernest Thompson won Academy Awards for this film.
