Olympic Torch Paris

Guide Note:

The Olympic torch left Paris on Monday, April 7, 2008, under high security due to of threats of protesters attempting to put out the flame. The protests of the 2008 Olympics are due to China's Censorship, human rights abuses, refusal to allow Tibetan Independence, and China's role in Darfur. Police officers in Paris heightened security for the event after aggressive protesters attempted to put out the flame in London.

  3. Security includes 32 buses of riot police and 100 roller blade squad officers
  4. Security equal to that of a visit from a U.S. President
