The Olympic Torch Relay arrived in New Delhi, India on April 17, 2008. Security has been a major concern for this leg of the relay, as there are many active Tibetan Independence groups in India. The Dalai Lama resides in India along with the Tibetan government in exile. The route was shortened to under a mile and a half and security teams from China are reviewed the preparations prior to the run.
