Background
While curling was first seen at the Winter Olympics in 1924, it skipped the 1928 games, being playing in 1932 and then not again until 1998. Canada leads all nations in total medals, with two each gold, silver and bronze. In the 2006 games, Canada took home the gold in the men's tournament, followed by Finland and the United States. On the women's side, Sweden won the gold in 2006 with Switzerland and Canada winning the silver and bronze respectively.
