Olympic Alpine Skiing

Olympic Alpine Skiing has been a part of the Winter Olympic Games since the multi-sport event was held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 1936. Background

In the Olympic Alpine Skiing competition class, there are a number of different events that are divided into men's and women's classes. The events include: Combined, Downhill, Slalom, Giant Slalom and Super G. It was not until the Winter Olympic Games in 1988 that all five events were part of the Winter Olympic Games.
